Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi today at an event in Beijing launched two new smartphones Mi Mix and Mi Note 2. Both smartphones come with massive displays. The Mi Mix has 6.4-inch edgeless display while Mi Note 2 comes with the 5.7-inch flexible display. The other things that make these smartphones fall apart from other devices are their design. Xiaomi is touting the Mi Mix as ‘ultimate smartphone.’ It designed by French designer Philippe Starck. While on the other hand, the Mi Note 2 has two-sided dual curves and ultra-thin flexible display. Both smartphones come with power packed specifications that we can imagine in a smartphone.
Talking about the Mi Mix, according to the company it is the first smartphone with 91.3% screen-to-body ratio which is also highest in any smartphone till now. It made of full ceramic body, the back cover, frame and side buttons. As the design of this smartphone is completely different, there are so many changes in it as well. Like it comes with ultrasonic proximity sensor instead off the infrared sensor of regular smartphones. Talking about the specification of Mi Mix, it comes in two variants. The one variant with 6GB RAM and 256B internal storage priced at RMB 3999, while the other variant of 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage priced at RMB 3499. It will be available from next month.
The 6.4-inch edgeless display Mi Mix comes with 2.35GHz Snapdragon 821 SoC. There is a 4400mAh battery on board along with quick charge 3.0 support. There is 16-megapixel PDAF rear camera along with 5-megapixel front camera at the bottom of the display. There’s full NFC support on board along with Mi-Pay ready.
On the other hand, the Note 2 comes with ultra-thing 5.7-inch flexible OLED Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display on top with 77.2% screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone powered by 2.35GHz Snapdragon 821 SoC along with Adreno 530 GPU. There is 4/6GB RAM on board along with 64/128GB internal storage. It comes with 22.56-megapixel Sony IMX318 rear camera with 77-degree wide angle lens. It comes with electronic image stabilization (EIS) and can record 4K videos. There is an 8-megapixel front shooter as well for selfies.
It comes with a 4070mAh battery with quick charge 3.0. It is available in two colors Piano Black and Glacier Silver. Both smartphones runs on MiUi on the top of Android Marshmallow. The Mi Note 2 will be available in three different variants. Mi Note 2 is the successor of last year launch Mi Note smartphone.
